Shangri-La’s Hambantota Golf Resort & Spa, Sri Lanka Plants Trees For Sri Lankan New Year

At Shangri-La, our colleagues know that some of the best holiday celebrations uplift our communities and surrounding environment. To celebrate Sinhalese New Year, the traditional New Year celebration of Sri Lanka, and Hindu New Year, 20 Shangri-La’s Hambantota Golf Resort & Spa, Sri Lanka colleagues planted trees in the drive leading up to the resort.

Representing new life for a growing, prosperous future and adding to the already teeming Sri Lankan ecosystem, the team had fun planting the new trees and look forward to their growth.

“Resort staff members participated with great motivation and look forward to have a flowering tree canopy in the upcoming years,” said Palinda Perera, CSR manager at Shangri-La’s Hambantota Golf Resort & Spa, Sri Lanka. “It will add color and value to the community and also lighten up the road to the resort entrance.

Thank you to our colleagues who participated in the project and the resort for continuing to support the diverse Sri Lankan ecosystem.
