Shangri-La Resorts In Oman Support Students And Community Members During COVID-19 Pandemic

In cooperation with the Ministry of Health (MOH), Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa welcomed over 200 students returning from the United States and provided guestrooms for their repatriation. The resort coordinated with the Diwan, the Royal Court of the Sultanate of Oman, and the Royal Police Force to ensure safe and healthy repatriation and quarantine for the students. Following the students’ stay, the resort team sanitized all public spaces, elevators and guestrooms in which students resided. The resort is in discussion to welcome a second group of students and provide 302 guestrooms for repatriation.

During this time of need, Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa and Shangri-La Al Husn Resort & Spa have supported Dar Al Atta’a, a non-profit volunteer-based charitable organization that supports community members in need. During the COVID-19 crisis, the resorts have donated clothing and linen to Dar Al Atta’a as well as financial aid. The donations will help over 5,000 families in need in and around Muscat.
