Shangri-La Properties Observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month With Educational Sessions

According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer screenings are vital as the illness is sometimes found after symptoms appear, but many women with breast cancer have no symptoms. To observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month and educate colleagues about the importance of early detection and research, Shangri-La properties in Mauritius and New Delhi hosted informative sessions with local subject matter experts.


In an effort to raise awareness for breast cancer, Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok Resort & Spa, Mauritius invited Shamima Patel, a breast cancer survivor, to speak with female resort colleagues on October 8. Patel shared her story with 30 resort colleagues, and inspired staff with her experience and the importance of early detection and regular screenings.


On October 16, Dr. Seema Singh from the BLK Super Specialty Hospital visited Shangri-La’s – Eros Hotel, New Delhi to educate colleagues about the importance of early detection and understanding scientific research about breast cancer. Throughout the day, colleagues wore pink attire and pink ribbons to show their support for those affected by breast cancer.
