At Shangri-La Group, we know that sweet gestures go a long way, especially to those who help our communities during challenging times. In May, Shangri-La Hotel, Paris Pastry Chef Maxence Barbot and Executive Chef Christophe Moret led a baking class for seven hotel colleagues. While baking 300 chocolate, toffee and almond cookies, colleagues bonded while learning Chef Barbot’s professional techniques and discussing the intricacies about Parisian baking. The team donated the cookies to local firemen and police officer to thank them for their hard work and dedication.
“We were all thrilled to spend an afternoon together,” said Pascale Adoner, executive assistant manager of rooms at Shangri-La Hotel, Paris. “Combining generosity and team working at the same time attending a cookies class from our amazing pastry Chef Maxence was a such a pleasure.”
“General Manager Julien Bardet and Executive Chef Christophe Moret initiated the class to promote team building during hotel closure while also supporting our local community who have always been present for us during the crisis and even before,” said Sabrina Craunot, director of human resources at Shangri-La Hotel, Paris. “We all had a lot of fun during the cooking class, and we enjoyed delivering the cookies to the dedicated police and firemen, who were thrilled when they received the cookies.”
Thank you to our colleagues at Shangri-La Hotel, Paris for extending hospitality from the heart and warm cookies from our kitchen.
