Safety First: Shangri-La Hotel, Beihai Promotes Health And Safety On World Day For Health And Safety

Shangri-La Group is committed to ensuring the health and safety of our colleagues, guests and community members by adhering to strict protocols and guidelines, as well as updating systems and processes on a regular basis.

On April 28, World Day For Health And Safety At Work promotes the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases globally. To commemorate the observation, Shangri-La Hotel, Beihai invited Ms. Shen Guoping, representative from the Beihai Dongdu community center, to share updated information about health and safety in the workplace. Guoping taught employees and guests from the local police station about cancer detection and prevention, Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) systems and safety protocols, safety hazards in the workplace, and fire safety knowledge. A representative from the fire department demonstrated how to effectively use a fire extinguisher in an emergency.

“This activity helped reiterate the importance of health and safety,” said Doris Li, resident manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Beihai. “We also encourage our colleagues to practice good health and safety measures in their personal lives by engaging in physical activity, including walking and tracking the activity on the Ant Forest platform. We hope to actively help Shangri-La Group achieve its goal to plant 5,000 trees through the Shangri-La Ant Forest project.”

Thank you to Shangri-La Hotel, Beihai, guests and speakers for promoting proper health and safety.
