Not All Heroes Wear Capes: Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard, London Welcomes Medical Hero

Throughout the pandemic, medical workers and frontliners have risked their personal health and safety for the wellbeing of others. To reward the dedicated medical professionals in the Middle East, India, Indian Ocean, Europe and Americas, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts in the region launched the Heroes Campaign to gift 100 room nights to these well-deserving heroes.

Through the regional social media campaign, users around the world nominated medical professionals for the chance to win a stay one of 12 participating hotels in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Paris, London, Istanbul, Mauritius, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Muscat, Toronto and Vancouver. Fifty heartfelt stories were chosen to reward the frontliners for their acts of bravery during this time of need.


Upon reopening on Friday, August 14, Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard, London welcomed Megan as one of its first guests following months of closure. Throughout the pandemic, Megan has worked non-stop as an NHS professional without complaint, has run errands and shopped for those unable to, and continues to put her life at risk to help others.


As part of the regional Heroes campaign, the region awarded Megan a complimentary stay at the hotel for her selfless acts. Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard, London was delighted to welcome Megan with a luxurious stay in the clouds to thank her for her sacrifices during this difficult time.
