Starting in August, schools in Penang, Malaysia were allowed to reopen in phases. Leading up to the first day of school, the Hotel Jen Penang team helped the Special Children Centre, the hotel’s Embrace beneficiary that teaches children with disabilities, prepare for the first day of school.
To ensure a healthy and safe return for students and teachers, the team purchased cleaning and sanitation supplies and helped sanitize the classrooms and school grounds.
The team worked together to clean the school grounds including desks, materials, window panes and more.
To further ensure a healthy school year, Hotel Jen Penang colleagues prepared disposable face shields for the students and teachers.
Led by Yaw Ling Wong, area CSR manager, hotel volunteers upcycled 100 pieces of reusable and sanitized linen to create 100 masks in two hours.
We wish the students in Penang a successful and educational school year ahead!
