Shangri-La Celebrates Dragon Boat Festival With CSR

The Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated annually to commemorate the life and death of Qu Yuan, a famous Chinese scholar who is known as China’s first poet. Observed on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar, Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated by eating rice dumplings (zongzi), drinking realgar wine (xionghuangjiu), racing dragon boats and more. All of the activities, dishes and tokens used to celebrate Dragon Boat Festival were regarded by ancient scholars as an effective way to prevent disease and evil while promoting good health and wellbeing.
