Shangri-La Hotel, The Marina, Cairns Cares For Community Members During Crisis

During this unprecedented time, Shangri-La colleagues around the world are making positive impacts in their communities. For the past year, Shangri-La Hotel, The Marina, Cairns has provided 100 monthly meals to Anglicare Far North Queensland, a charitable organization that serves its community through outreach programs, counselling, homelessness services, mental health and wellbeing services, youth support and more. Hotel colleagues have continued this initiative by packaging and delivering meals that the culinary team prepares.

“Despite the extremely dynamic environment we are in right now, we are trying our best to keep the norm and do our usual duties which also includes donating and packing meals for Anglicare,” said Ross Miles-Cadman, general manager of Shangri-La Hotel, The Marina, Cairns. “In these unprecedented times and with minimal active staff in the hotel, even colleagues who have been stood down temporarily are still happy to come into the hotel and help cook and pack the meals to ensure that our commitment to our community and the less fortunate continues. A true demonstration of the Shangri-La spirit and family.”

Thank you to our colleagues at Shangri-La Hotel, The Marina, Cairns for volunteering their time and energy to make a positive impact in their community.
