On August 11 and 12, 121 volunteers and family members from Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, Tainan and representatives from the Taiwan Fund Children and Family Association (TFCF) participated in a coastal cleanup. After hours of hard work, the volunteers collected over 760 kilograms of plastic waste.
After the cleanup sessions, the Society of Wilderness educated the group about plastic pollution and its effect on marine life. The Society of Wilderness is dedicated to protecting the natural and ecological environment in Taiwan through education, habitat preservation and public participation.
“The project shows the core values of Shangri-La’s culture, and our willingness to protect our environment,” said Evan Huang, director of human resources at Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, Tainan. “We are committed to beautifying our environment and engaging our community to make the greatest positive impact.”
Thank you to our colleagues and volunteers for beautifying Tainan!
