On May 23 and 24, Shangri-La Hotel, Haikou hosted the Responsible Business Forum On Climate Innovation 2019 as the Sustainability Host Partner. The Forum brought together over 450 leaders from companies, start-ups, investors and international agencies to share and discuss zero-carbon and circular economy solutions for a sustainable and climate-resilient future.
In line with the Forum’s purpose, the hotel provided eco-friendly amenities such as reusable glasses instead of plastic bottles, and a stationary corner at which guests could gather supplies as needed rather than providing a surplus of pens and paper. The hotel also engaged with attendees by placing carbon reduction commitment cards throughout the event, including in guestrooms. A Pledge Wall encouraged attendees and colleagues to pledge their commitment to reducing carbon emissions in their daily lives.
Attendees enjoyed a healthy and eco-friendly vegetable-themed tea break with lively green decorations and recyclable dishware, as well as a Hainan-themed tea break to educate attendees about local culture.
Thank you to Shangri-La Hotel, Haikou for hosting the meaningful forum.
