At Shangri-La, we are honored to help our guests and colleagues create fond memories during holiday seasons. From fun parties for EMBRACE beneficiaries to a special turtle hatching, check out how Shangri-La hotels and resorts celebrated Easter with CSR.
On April 17, Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong welcomed 40 students from the Yan Oi Tong Madam Lau Wong Fat Primary School, the hotel’s EMBRACE partner that teaches children from underprivileged backgrounds, for a fun Easter party. The children enjoyed a morning full of activities including egg painting, an egg hunt with special prizes, a themed buffet and more.
On April 20, Kowloon Shangri-La continued Easter celebrations with a Family Open Day for 150 colleagues and their families, and families from Beyond Children’s Special Needs Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by actress Margaret Chung to help children with special needs.
“Everyone had a wonderful time at the party,” said Patsy Chan, director of public relations and partnerships at the hotel. “The families loved the lunch buffet, magic show, performances by young talent, and Easter egg painting session.”
The families painted 100 Easter eggs, which were packaged in baskets of chocolates and sweets and donated to children with mental disabilities at the Caritas Jockey Club Lok Yan School and children from low income families at Christian Action organization.
Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong invited 28 children from J-Life Foundation, the hotel’s EMBRACE partner, and hotel colleagues’ children to an Easter Lunch Party. The hotel team prepared an afternoon of fun with a bouncy castle, tic-tac-toe, Jenga, basketball, balloon art, magic show, egg painting, face painting and lunch buffet.
Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai colleagues celebrated the holiday with a themed teambuilding activity. Colleagues from all departments were encouraged to flex their creativity while painting ostrich eggs. The Finance team took home first prize for best creativity and concept.
In Muscat, guests and colleagues at Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa, Sultanate of Oman and Shangri-La Al Husn Resort & Spa, Sultanate of Oman celebrated Easter by watching turtle hatchlings sprout from the sand and make their way to the sea, making for a special Easter memory. The resorts’ protected beaches are one of five turtle nesting sites in the Sultanate of Oman.
Thank you to our colleagues (and turtles) around the world for making Easter 2019 a memorable holiday for our guests and beneficiaries.
