Runners Reach New Heights At Jing An Shangri-La, West Shanghai Vertical Run

Up, up and away! On October 20, Jing An Shangri-La, West Shanghai hosted the fourth annual Climb For Hope vertical run. Over 300 amateur and elite runners conquered 1,625 steps to reach the finish line at level 60. Hotel colleagues cheered on the runners and waited for them at the finish line with participation medals.

Through donations and entry fees, the heart-pumping event raised over RMB99,000 (about USD14,276) for the Shanghai Children’s Medical Centre. The donation will go towards paying for medical treatment for underprivileged children.

The event was supported by the CEO Roundtable on Cancer-China, a non-profit organization that develops and implements initiatives that support cancer research, aim to reduce the risk of cancer, detect early signs of cancer and facilitate access to the best available treatments.

“CSR has always been a vital part for us to give back and connect with the local community,” said Marco Vazzoler, general manager of Jing An Shangri-La, West Shanghai. “For the fourth year, Climb For Hope has successfully brought guests from all walks of life together for a good cause while promoting healthy lifestyles.”

Congratulations to the runners who conquered the steps, and to our colleagues who helped arrange and organize this successful event.
