Great technology can bring great CSR initiatives with positive messages. Recently, Shangri-La Hotel, Doha proved that by collaborating with Tarsheed Qatar, a national organization for the conservation and efficient use of water and electricity in Qatar. For the water conservation project, engineers installed a fake mirror in front of a real mirror in one of the hotel’s restrooms. Every time a guest left the faucet running, the guest’s reflection disappeared to reveal a message about water consumption. Reactions to the messages were captured and shared with the guests. Some who experienced the interactive mirror agreed to share their reactions to further spread the message of conserving one of our planet’s most precious resources.
"We are delighted to partner with Tarsheed as they strive to increase awareness on water and electricity conservation,” said Ruwaida Abela, director of communications at Shangri-La Hotel, Doha. “This is in-line with our continuous efforts to reinforce our commitment to the local community."
