Every year on June 11 since 2012, countries around the world have celebrated the importance of holistic wellness on Global Wellness Day. This year, Shangri-La hotels and resorts around the world will invite guests, colleagues and members of their communities to find their #ParadiseWithin on Global Wellness Day with Shangri-La’s four pillars of Sustainability.
To recognize the well-being of Our People, many hotels and resorts will host activities that focus on colleagues’ wellness. Both Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok Resort & Spa, Mauritius and Shangri-La Hotel, Doha will serve healthy lunches at their colleague’s restaurants.
Along with guests and colleagues, some hotels and resorts will invite members of their communities to participate in Global Wellness Day celebrations. Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore will invite members of its community, guests and colleagues to a morning yoga session in its gardens. In the Philippines, Shangri-La at the Fort, Manila will invite children from a local day care to have a day full of wellness fun in the hotel’s Adventure Zone.
Many properties will honor Our Environment and Our Business during Global Wellness Day by integrating Rooted in Nature options in restaurants. Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa, Kota Kinabalu will offer a sunset yoga session followed by organic snacks and fresh juices, while the executive chef at Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa, Penang will host a cooking demonstration featuring Rooted in Nature ingredients.
Going straight from nature to table, Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney will serve its hotel-made honey at a pop-up juice bar in the lobby. Also on Global Wellness Day, Milan Drager, the hotel's resident manager, will lead a run across the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge to give guests a first-hand look of the city's urban environment.
We look forward to the positive impact that Shangri-La hotels and resorts will have on Global Wellness Day!
