Shangri-La hotels and resorts around the world constantly look for new ways to engage not only our colleagues and our communities, but also our guests. On Monday, April 18, Shangri-La rolled out the new Shangri-La Events Collection program, which gives event planners and guests the tools to incorporate Meetings with More CSR activities into events and celebrations. Here are just some examples of the interactive programs that bring event attendees closer to our destinations and environments:
Meeting attendees at Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort & Spa, Yanuca Island can kayak through mangrove forests and discover the cultural and ecological links of this important ecosystem in the Fijian islands. To help ensure the continued health and vitality of the forest, attendees can also plant new mangrove seedlings that will grow to mature trees.
Along with our resort in Fiji, other tropical locations such as Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa, Cebu and Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort & Spa, Philippines offer ocean-friendly activities such as beach clean-ups and fish-house making that help preserve and grow the fragile coral reef ecosystem surrounding the resorts.
Meeting attendees at Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa, Kota Kinabalu can learn more about one of Malaysia’s best known and most beautiful crafts, hand painted batik fabric. Through a pool side batik painting experience, attendees can create a beautiful souvenir of their time in Malaysia to take home.
Stay tuned as we announce new and exciting CSR group activities at our hotels and resorts around the world!
