In Thailand, teamwork doesn’t end within the walls of our hotels – it’s extended to the community, and even to animals. Recently, Khunying Jawaratana Tejavej, special advisor at Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok, and Phillip Couvaras, area manager and general manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok, presented a check worth 130,423.75 baht (about US $3,647.91) to the Friends of the Asian Elephant Foundation after its successful fundraising initiative to support Elephant Care with Shangri-La.
During the fundraiser, which was jointly organized by Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok and Shangri-La Hotel, Chiang Mai, the hotels sold “Our Jumbo” children’s book, shirts and mugs to guests at the properties. All proceeds went to Elephant Care with Shangri-La, which aims to help save the endangered elephants.
Congratulations to Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok and Shangri-La Hotel, Chiang Mai for the successful joint fundraiser.
