Recently, Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort & Spa, Kota Kinabalu hosted members of local charitable organizations for a fun-filled family day at the beach. The resort invited members, students and teachers of the Sabah Society for the Blind, the Sri Nangka Secondary School, and Tuaran Special Education School and their families for activities that promoted positive growth of cognitive skills, teamwork, and most of all – fun!
With support of their families, the participants competed in a friendly potato sack race, blindfold race and sand braille writing activity. The day ended with a game of tug-of-war between the resort staff and members of the Sabah Society for the Blind.
Jonathan Reynolds, general manager at the resort, expressed his gratitude to the organizations for holding the day’s activities at Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort & Spa, Kota Kinabalu and for the organizations’ continued partnership with the resort.
“At Rasa Ria, when an opportunity to work with or help out the local community arises, we always try to assist,” said Reynolds. “Some opportunities may be serious in nature, but some, such as today, where the objective is to have fun and mingle, are equally considered. After all, ‘Rasa Ria’ literally means ‘feelings of happiness!”
Thank you to our colleagues at Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort & Spa, Kota Kinabalu for helping make fun and lasting memories with members of our community.
