Hotel Jen Male, Maldives Races to Protect Children

Recently, the ninth annual Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race was held, which is the biggest annual charity run in the Maldives. Three thousand runners representing 43 different countries participated this year, where the goal was to raise awareness about child abuse. Nine colleagues from Hotel Jen Male, Maldives laced up their running shoes to represent the hotel for the second year in a row since the hotel’s opening.

All Hotel Jen team members finished the race, with colleague Ahmed Moosa leading the pack. Ahmed was one of the first 100 to cross the finish line.

Dhiraagu supports non-governmental organizations that focus on children’s rights and protection, such as the non-governmental organization Advocating for the Rights of Children (ARC) and the Child Helpline, which provides a 24-hour hotline where children can call in anonymously for help free of charge. Registration fees were donated to these and other organizations.

“We participate because we believe in the cause championed by Dhiraagu, ‘Against Child Abuse’, and if we work together, we can make that a reality,” said Hassan Rameez, the team leader and a colleague from the hotel’s human resources department.

Rameez added that he is very proud that he works for Hotel Jen Male, Maldives, as it continues to support its own initiatives and external charity initiatives.

Thank you to our colleagues at Hotel Jen Male, Maldives for participating in the run, and keep up the great work!
