In keeping with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts’ commitment to hospitality from the heart, Shangri-La Hotel, Manzhouli organized two volunteer initiatives to benefit its community.
First, 58 colleagues participated in a cleaning activity where volunteers rolled up their sleeves to collect trash from around the neighborhood.
After hours of volunteering, our colleagues collected and properly disposed over 80 kilograms of garbage.
Next, 34 colleagues volunteered at a nursing home in nearby Lianhua. The nursing home houses 20 residents, but has only two caretakers. Recognizing the need for extra help, our colleagues cleaned all of the bedrooms and public areas in the nursing home, repaired broken fixtures, helped feed and groom the residents, and replaced all bed linen, which was donated by the hotel.
After this successful CSR initiative, Shangri-La Hotel, Manzhouli looks forward to making the nursing home part of its long term CSR commitment.
