Every year on May 29, National Elderly Day is celebrated in Indonesia to raise awareness about issues faced by elderly citizens. To participate in National Elderly Day, Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya hosted complimentary health screenings for the elderly in its community.
Held at the MI Nurul Huda Kepatihan School in nearby Gresik City, 14 hotel colleagues helped doctors and nurses provide health screenings to over 240 patients. The health screenings consisted of blood pressure checks, health consultations and more. After the health screenings, hotel volunteers gave attendees gift bags full of milk, food, soap and more.
"We are happy to see this first time event receive a positive response from the local community," said Cahya Bhinartika, CSR manager at Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya. “We expect 300 participants for next year.”
Great job to the team at Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya, and keep up the great work.
