Recently, Shangri-La’s Sanya Resort & Spa, Hainan launched its first Embrace project – “Use Your Heart to Hear the Love of the World.” The resort partnered with the Sanya Hui Kang Hearing and Learning Rehabilitation Center, which offers rehabilitation classes and training for children ages two to 12 who are autistic, hearing impaired, have speech impediments, or who have Down syndrome.
For the resort’s first event with the school, colleagues invited 28 students, their families and teachers to the resort for a morning of fun. The resort arranged comfortable transportation for the families and held a welcome reception for everyone in the ballroom.
The morning was then spent at the resort’s Adventure Zone where staff helped the children play on the rainbow slides, bridges, ball pit and more.
After playtime in the Adventure Zone, everyone headed upstairs to the arts and crafts area to color pictures and sculpt with clay. The children’s drawings will be hung on display throughout the resort.
The celebration concluded with lunch at the Children’s Buffet, where every child received a plush toy to commemorate the day of fun.
“Today’s activity is just the start and is the basis of our long-term cooperation for our Embrace Program,” said Dexter Cheng, general manager of the resort. “We want to engage and support these children and let them know that we as a part of the community not only care about them today, but that we are here in the long run to be a part of their growth and development.”
Congratulations to our colleagues at Shangri-La’s Sanya Resort & Spa, Hainan, and we look forward to the lasting partnership.
