Zentangle for the Holidays

December 5, 2014

In support of the annual Operation Santa Claus charity fundraising project, Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong and Fina Man, the first Certified Zentangle® Teacher in Asia, joined hands to set a world record in creating the world’s largest Zentangle-inspired art piece to raise money for those in need.

Over 90 artists donated 187 Zentangle tiles that became part of the world’s largest Zentangle-inspired art piece, measuring over 240 square meters (about 2,583 square feet) with a total of 3,024 Zentangle tiles. Guests and visitors can now view the Zentangle in the hotel's lobby until Christmas Eve 2014.

“Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong holds highly its corporate social responsibility and believes doing every bit to give back to the community," said Ulf Bremer, general manager of the hotel. "This year marks our twelfth year of support to Operation Santa Claus and we are elated to have an opportunity to work with Fina and so many donors to create an artwork of love and set a record.”

In addition to the proceeds collected through the Zentangle tiles, the art piece will be sectioned and auctioned off.  All proceeds will go to Operation Santa Claus’ 20 beneficiaries in Hong Kong to help children, elderly and people with mental and physical challenges.
