Food For Thought: Hong Kong Hotels Partner With J-Life Foundation To Make Dumplings For Elderly Home
On May 25, volunteers from all four Shangri-La Group properties in Hong Kong and Aberdeen Marina Club partnered with J-Life Foundation to prepare over 200 rice dumplings for residents at the Elderly Home in Hung Hom Area.
Twenty-two colleagues from Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong, 15 colleagues from Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong, six colleagues from Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong, three colleagues from Hotel Jen Hong Kong, two volunteers from Aberdeen Marina Club, and 15 children and three representatives from the J-Life Foundation joined forces to create the delicious dumplings.
The children and colleagues learned the traditional methods of wrapping and cooking rice dumplings, all while engaging with one another.
“We are honored to team with J-Life Foundation for this meaningful activity, engage with children from the foundation, and give back to the community,” said Ashley Liang, director of operational efficiency at Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong. “Even small projects like making rice dumplings can make a huge difference!”
Thanks to our colleagues and the J-Life Foundation for teaming up for this meaningful activity.
