Pudong Shangri-La, East Shanghai Breaks GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS For Largest Mocktail-Making Session
Updated: Jan 31
In collaboration with More Than Aware and Shanghai Cancer Recovery Club, Pudong Shangri-La, East Shanghai broke the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ for largest mocktail-making session on September 17. To break the record, the hotel hosted 1,879 people including breast cancer survivors affiliated with More Than Aware, a support group that empowers women to fight and prevent breast cancer through wellness. The organization has helped 3,300 women in recovery and thousands more in the prevention stages.
The hotel achieved the feat by setting up 237 mocktail-making stations with four participants at each station. Each participant made the Late summer mocktail, led by the head bartender of Jade on 36 Bar. The hotel proudly broke the record, which was previously achieved by Diageo in Barcelona, Spain in September 2013 with 1,774 participants.
This is the fifth GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ that the hotel has broken after: making the longest yule log cake in 2011; hosting the most people throwing pizza dough in collaboration with More Than Aware; hosting most people blowing out candles simultaneously for Earth Hour in 2013; and hosting the most people eating breakfast in bed in 2014, which was also in collaboration with More Than Aware.
Congratulations to everyone at Pudong Shangri-La and More Than Aware who made this possible!
