Food for Thought: Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya Shows Guests Appreciation at Charity Dinner
Shangri-La’s legendary hospitality from the heart would be nothing without the guests we serve. On October 13, Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya invited 100 guests to an “East meets West” charity dinner to show its appreciation for their support throughout the years.
At the event, the hotel also introduced the newest members of the Shangri-La family, including General Manager Sigi Bierbaumer, Executive Chef Glen Roberts, Chinese Executive Chef Chen Hann Furn, and Dim Sum Chef Nick Ng.
While the hotel wanted to celebrate its valued guests and newest team members, it also wanted to give back to the community. Before the dinner, guests could participate in a charity auction, bidding on buffet dinners and guestroom vouchers from other Shangri-La properties. The hotel will donate all 100 million rupiahs (about USD7,510) raised from the charity dinner to Yayasan Kasih Anak Kanker Jawa Timur (East Java Care for Cancer Kids Foundation), an organization that provides housing for children awaiting cancer treatments.
“This is just the beginning of many charity dinners at Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya,” said Dian Iskandar, director of sales and marketing at Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya.
Congratulations to the team at Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya on the successful charity dinner, and we look forward to many more in the future that will help the children at East Java Care for Cancer Kids Foundation.
